The Friendship & Health Hub

We are delighted to be hosting these monthly events, organised by Community Association Burston Community Wellbeing Projects.

Everyone is welcome to come for the full afternoon, taking part in various activities, or just pop in for a particular activity or as much time as you would like.

Booking is essential for the wellbeing activities - see below for all the info needed to book your spot. But if you would like to just come along for a cup of tea and a chat, then booking is not needed.

Group Sessions:

12.30 onwards- SEND Parent’s support Group- No booking required just come along (informal)

3pm- Carer support group (informal)

During the Stay & Play session (before the hub) 1/2hr Family Yoga with Mel

1-2pm Food Demo- Healthy snacks for you & your family with Naturopathic Nutritionist Meg Powell

Private Sessions:

1pm, 2pm & 3pm (50min sessions) Counselling session with Ruth

1.30- 3.30pm Hand and arm massage with Sarah

Refreshments available throughout the day and Nutritious food provided by Marigold Catering.

Everything on offer is absolutely FREE of charge and is offered on a first come first served basis.

Space for Carers - Do you care for an elderly parent or partner? We are creating a space where you can share what’s on your mind over a drink with people who understand what you may be going through to share ideas and support.

Join Meg Powell, Naturopathic Nutritionist, for a food demo. Meg will be showing how to make some delicious healthy, family friendly snacks. Try some of them at the session plus take home the recipe!

Counselling Session with Ruth

Ruth is a qualified counsellor with a quiet and calm presence who is dedicated to offering safe, confidential and consistent support to her clients. She is a fully insured member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and abides by their comprehensive ethical code. Ruth offers a welcoming and non-judgemental space for you to focus on yourself and whatever may be causing you distress. This may be anxiety, fear, depression, loneliness, or low self-esteem, for example. You may be experiencing a transition of some kind or feeling overwhelmed. You may have experienced trauma or bereavement. You may have a nagging sense of unidentifiable unhappiness and malaise.

Hand and arm massage with Sarah

Tibetan hand and arm massage, also known as Ku Nye, is a hands-on therapy that uses a combination of rubbing, kneading, stroking, and acupressure techniques to relieve tension, improve circulation, and promote relaxation in the hands, arms, and shoulders.

It's particularly beneficial for those who frequently use their hands for repetitive tasks, manual sports, or heavy physical labour.
