Meditation & Mindfulness
Mindfulness is essentially the awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, and in non-judgement ways. It is a form of meditative practice that can bring awareness to the direct experience of your life and in so doing can help you reflect on those ways that are skilful (helpful) and unskilful (less helpful) in our day to day lives. As a practice, it can help us become aware of our automatic thought and behavioural patterns and in so doing can create a space, a moment, where we can consider if what we are thinking or doing serves us in positive ways. It can help to create a buffer to allow us the opportunity to make a choice of how we want to respond to a particular scenario that can be empowering.
